Sustainability workshop of JAMS 2.0 outcomes

Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices of the Republic of Slovenia (JAZMP), as the leader of Work Package 4 Sustainability within the EU4Health joint action Reinforced Market Surveillance of Medical Devices and In-Vitro Diagnostic Devices (JAMS 2.0), organised a workshop on the sustainability of the project outcomes on 21 May 2025.

JAMS 2.0 project aims to reinforce the market surveillance of medical devices (MD) and in-vitro medical devices (IVD) in EU/EEA Member States to harmonize approaches in this field across the European Union, and to ensure the continuous improvement of collaboration. It involves the participation of 24 EU/EEA Member States. Through the harmonization of approaches and the strengthening of coordination, JAMS 2.0 contributes to the safety of medical devices and the protection of public health.

At the halfway point of the project, as the first results of the joint efforts are already visible, the workshop was dedicated to a discussion among representatives of the participating competent authorities on opportunities to ensure the sustainability of the project outcomes in the areas of joint inspections, market surveillance campaigns, and signal detection in the field of vigilance. At the same time, the discussions focused on activities that are part of the implementation of the Sustainability Plan, with the aim to reduce potential barriers and challenges, that could hinder further implementation and use of the project’s results.
